Abstract

 In March 2019, the number of poor people in South Kalimantan was 192.48 thousand people with a poverty rate of 4.55 percent.

 The number of poor people in urban areas is 70.52 thousand people with a poverty rate of 3.53 percent and the number of poor people in rural areas is 121.97 thousand people with a poverty rate of 5.47 percent.

 South Kalimantan is the province with the lowest poverty rate on Kalimantan Island. The highest regional poverty rate in Kalimantan occurred in West Kalimantan at 7.49 percent.

 The role of food commodities towards the formation of the poverty line is 71.21 percent.

 The Poverty Depth Index (P1) in South Kalimantan is 0.702 and the Poverty Severity Index (P2) is 0.153.
